About Us

Women’s Democracy Network Albania (WDN Albania), founded in 2010 and registered in 2012, is a non-profit, non-political organization governed by a Board of Directors. For over a decade, it has advanced democracy, gender equality, youth empowerment, and community development through innovative and collaborative approaches—promoting women’s economic and social autonomy through concrete field initiatives and contributing to sustainable social and economic development.

Our approach is participatory, partnership-driven, and evidence-based.

Strengthening Community -Responsive Policymaking

Strengthening Community-Responsive Policymaking at the Local Level. WDN Albania is implementing a series of capacity-building trainings with municipal representatives in Cërrik, Librazhd, Kamëz, and Pogradec. Through these sessions, local officials are equipped with practical tools and inclusive, participatory approaches to better respond to community needs and strengthen democratic governance.

Regional Cooperation for Youth

Regional Cooperation for Youth: The project “A Writeathon for Democratic Development and European Integration” was successfully implemented as a regional initiative engaging youth from Albania and Kosovo. It promoted intercultural dialogue, democratic participation, and creative expression through a series of structured activities, culminating in a final event. The project was implemented with the support of RYCO Regional Youth Cooperation Office and funded by the Western Balkans Youth Cultural Fund.

Education for All – Social Initiative

A dedicated initiative supporting women affected by domestic violence to continue their education. WDN Albania provides counseling, legal aid, and mentoring, along with scholarships specifically to support their educational pathways and opportunities.
